[Adviced needed] Research paper for Resume

hello,

I am an undergraduate sophomore interested in the Asset Management field. Unfortunately, I did not get a summer internship. But I am currently in the process of doing research on my own (not associated with school or professor. Purely my own). The topic is bond portfolio management. I am wondering if I could put this on my resume, since it is not "official"? I am a little worried not having summer work on my resume and its negative impact on my junior summer internship recruiting.

Thank you!

Thank you very much for your advice. I would like to have it published, but I have never done it before. I am not sure if my work can be published haha. I mean, I am doing my best to learn the subject and write a polished paper, but how do I publish it?
