Application Objective
Hey guys,
What do you guys think about the "objective" section on cover letters and applications? I am currently a junior at a non target school and have spent the last four months interning at a prop shop in Chicago. Over the past couple weeks I have started submitting resumes and applying to internships in all sectors of finance for the summer. I know I want to work finance but I'm not exactly positive which sector. My question is, should I be honest when I fill out applications and say something along the lines of "I have long since had a passion for financial markets, and want to gain experience in other realms of finance before i graduate." or do I need to say "I've wanted to work in (IB, PE, trading, consulting) since I was 10"? Any thoughts?

Don't have an objective. Your only objective is to get a job and people know that.
Your objective is about your future and you can definitely mention your passion for finance in your resume. But make sure to quote that you have the required knowledge in the field and not a novice.
