Attempting a return to my career roots
I am now 30 years into my professional life and have had a number of twists and turns that took me away from my education and early career experiences. I'd like to get back to the kind of work I was doing in the early days and am considering various strategies for doing so. In my resume, I want to show that I once did that kind of work, but I wonder if that's going too far back. Every position along the way has been Excel-heavy and analytical, so that foundation has been the common thread. I've applied it in multiple industries, all of which have provided opportunities to grow my skills and knowledge.
Is 30 years too far in the past to include in my work history? There have only been six companies in that time, along with a few years where I did some independent contracting. The list wouldn't be long, it's just the timeframe I'm concerned about. Thoughts?
