Canadian Undergrad Transfer Help

Hello guys, I hope you are doing well. I am a rising junior at the Schulich School of Business, arguably top 5 in Canada for finance but basically non-existent in the US. I have two options that I am pursuing and would really appreciate advice on transferring to either Queen's Commerce or taking a year off, working and applying to Ivey. I am transferring due to two main reasons; These schools rank considerably better for finance placements in the US, and as a US citizen, my goal is working in the US and I want to live away from home to really get that university experience, which is really important to me at this point. I have summarized my options below:

1) I applied to Queen's Commerce, ranked top 2 in Canada for finance placements, as a transfer student and while I believe I have a decent chance of getting in due to my EC's, it is no way guaranteed. This is my first choice scenario as I know people at Queen's and from my interactions with them, I felt I bonded with them more than my peers at Schulich. 2) Take a year off Schulich, hopefully, intern at some firms, and transfer into Ivey for September 2021. I believe I have a great chance of getting into Ivey, as a friend of mine with a lower GPA and worse EC's did so this year. My only concern is how will my year break look for Ivey and for employers? Thank you
