Career trajectory after a Workout group at a BB?
So I'm finishing my first year analyst rotation program at a BB and it looks like I'll be placed in the Workout & Recovery group. The group sat in LevFin next to restructuring and LLM ~1 year ago, but has since been moved to credit risk (I think some banks still have it in the FO). Not sure exactly where I want to land long term, but would a gig at a distressed credit shop in a few years be realistic? How hard would a transition to LevFin or a coverage group be? Any other interesting avenues I should consider taking? I'm also weighing the MBA v CFA right now, so if you have advice as it pertains to my particular position I'd really appreciate it.
What type of workout are we talking about here? Cross fit, strength training, HIIT, running? Because depending on the workout, your recovery will vary. As far as recovery, very little beats the ice bath, but that's more MM type recovery. Hyperbaric chambers if you're top bucket BB.
