Cover Letter for Spring Insight Program at Goldman Sachs

*(There is a limit of 300 words. This is the prompt: **Cover Letter - motivations for applying Please provide information you would typically include in your cover letter in 300 words or less. Be sure to provide examples of the qualities you would bring to Goldman Sachs and describe your motivations for applying. If you are applying to more than one division, please discuss your motivations for applying to each *. Thank you in advance!) Dear Hiring Manager, I’m writing to you to express my interest in the position of an intern in the Spring Insight Program in the specific divisions of Finance, Investment Banking and Investment Management. I am aware a chance of networking and getting real life experience in a leading global firm is inviting to many people, but I know my skills and interests fit those fundamental for Goldman Sachs. Recognitions for my outstanding results in activities in the field of Mathematics, such as the Brazilian Mathematics and Physics Olympiad, prove that my quantitative knowledge is an advantage. It has taught me not only to deal with numbers and formulas, but also to pay attention to details, which is fundamental in the finance division. As a tennis player, I easily relate the athletics world to investment banking. I learned that creating an atmosphere in my favor and managing to keep control of the situation is fundamental to win. I’ll use this strategy to perform activities at the company, just like I’m used to in courts.
I enhanced my ability to communicate and interact with people when I lived abroad, and I keep improving it daily by surrounding myself with an international group of people. I will leverage those skills into the Investment Management division at Goldman Sachs, seen that an efficacious engagement with clients is crucial. I am applying to Goldman Sachs because I identify with how the company values excellence and personal initiative, and I admire it for aspiring to be a leading trusted company worldwide. I’m positive an early internship opportunity is the perfect introduction to the real world of finance and will provide me with what I need to make a successful application for the summer internship Program.

Thank you and I hope to hear back from you soon.
