Our recruiters don't forward electronic submissions or cover letters to us for consideration. That information would be scanned by the recruiter to assess "fit" against our requirements and hiring managers only receive a copy of the resume. Don't go too crazy, but if you make it look nice it will probably make the recruiter feel important. Just make sure that the information also ends up in that text box, whether it's uploading the file to populate it automatically or copy+paste the pertinent information yourself and uploading on the back-end.
