CV Review - Please rip it apart

I am a rising junior at a top 5 Canadian business school, known for accounting and marketing with very few BB placements from alumni, and would I am looking for constructive criticism to my CV.

I am interested in which bullet points are the weakest and could be removed, and replace them with more value-adding points. I am hoping to land an IB role at one of the Canadian Banks but would also be open to equity research as my current internship is in ER.

My biggest mistake was not starting to network early, but I have changed that this summer and have had a few calls with more planned in the future. I have a lot of extracurricular experience not included on the resume, such as being on the student council as an athletics representative due to a lack of space.

Just a few things that I should add, my first year GPA was a 3.3, totally my fault, so I did not include that. When I screenshotted the picture, I noticed some alignment was off due to my choice to redact some information for privacy. I am in the middle of transferring to Queens Commerce, top 2 undergrad in Canada for finance.

Thank you for all the help, please be brutal.

  • Show total GPA even if it looks bad

  • Use different verbs to start each bullet in work experience, you used "maintained" twice in a row and "built" numerous times (thesaurus.com) - same goes for extracurriculars

  • Add another bullet for the ER job and take one off the Golf one (or combine 2 of them so the section doesn't take up as much space)

  • Re-word the Leadership in Additional Info - "Orientation Leader for Class of 2023"

  • Other alignment things that I believe you mentioned might just be a redaction issue, such as NJ USA not lining up with Canada on the right and Consulting Club and President/Founder being off

  • Being fluent in 3 languages other than English is quite the flex tbh

Thank you so much for the in-depth help. I just wanted to address your points. My school has a 9.0 GPA scale so when I convert it to a 4.0 its a 3.54, based on the converter our school provided, should I round up or down? I do not have that much for the ER job as we're taking a small break due to some team changes but I wrote a blog post about Growth vs Value stocks, should I put that? Reading the leadership section again makes it sound a bit extra, thank you! Yea, I honestly did not notice them when I was changing the stuff over but I double checked my actual resume and those errors do not exist. Ukranian and Russian are very similar and I took two Mandarin classes and forgot most of it, so I'm scared if I interview with someone who speaks Mandarin I will have a hard time proving I took those classes haha Thank you for all your help, stay safe!

I think this looks a little cluttered and full. 5 bullets on club work, welcoming incoming class?

As others pointed out, the repeated use of some words (Presented) is a bit much. Also you can reword some things, like the VP Finance first line could be "Reduced expenses 7% via analysis of spending and variance in Excel" or some such.

Good luck!
