Elon Musk's Resume Format

I understand this is old news, but I was curious to see how Elon Musk's resume was formatted. Source

Now, I've been told time after time at my University that strictly using "Times New Roman, 10 pt. font, appropriate amount of white-space, plain black and white format, no picture, etc.) was appropriate to landing an interview, let alone a corporate job.

What are your thoughts on Musk's resume style? Would it be too much to use this style starting out as an entry level consultant? Or is it unique/appropriate in any way?

Any input on this would be appreciated.
