GPA on Resume???

Actually asking for a friend. lol He took AP classes and concurrent enrollment in high school. Got a ~3.2 GPA, now he is in college(at a decent school non-Ivy but still good). His freshman year at university he got a GPA of 3.7+. His university accepted his AP and concurrent enrollment classes and If you ask his university they will say his cumulative GPA is low but his institutional GPA is 3.7+. Does he combine his GPA or does he keep it separate on his resume? He obviously is not going to put the community college on his resume as that was in high school for one class.

I really have no clue what to tell him.
