fellow canadian here,

you need to network and explain your story. reading your resume, the questions that come to mind are:

"770 GMAT. ok, this kid is smart, so why is he doing a masters rather than working full time? and how did he end up in italy? and why did he not choose to work at the financial firm full-time or get a job in canada?"

770 GMAT and a unique story is your best bet right now, and should get some responses if you make an effort to network at your target firms.
