How do I spin the work I'm going to do on this job to be relevant to IB?

SA 2019 in EMEA recruiting is going on right now but I have not applied due to me not having any direct finance experience, but I am going to have a new student job/part-time job that are M&A related.

My position is called "M&A Analyst", but is not technical at all due to me not having my finance and accounting courses yet. The company is a M&A advisory boutique that are primarily dealing with sell-side clients and in the ICT & software industry.

  • Build on and quality assure the company's investordatabase
  • Investor search for sell-side clients
  • Sending email's to companies and PE firms who could be interested in buying

So it is more about investor communication, but I find it a great opportunity to get to know about different and relevant firms. How could I spin it to be relevant to IB? I know when writing in your resume it is also more about the results and quantifying, but I would still like to hear your opinions.
