how do you put this on your resume?

Hey guys, I'm a sophomore looking for a summer internship so I'm trying to get my resume out asap. I recently got an executive position in a business organization… however I start it in the spring semester. How would you suggest mentioning my new exec position when I haven't done anything yet? Should I put it under my list of other extra-curricular activities and just put no bullet points? What do I do with this position? Keep in mind this is my only leadership position...Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you haven't done anything then it's really of no value added on your resume and I wouldn't put it there. If they ask about it in an interview, you won't be able to talk about it - you don't want that.

I'm still a student myself though so take my advice with a grain of salt.

If you haven't started the position yet I would list your business organization under your activity section and then put member. List all the stuff you did with the organization with one of your bullets being something like - elected to be so and so in Fall 2008 and will commence duties in Spring 2009. Something along those lines. You can then change it once you do start next semester.

Well you're probably not going to be interviewing until sometime during the spring semester (when you'll be "doing" things for the position). I'd definitely put it on the resume and make your paragraph/bullets present tense (e.g. Manage a $XXXX budget) as opposed to a job from last summer where you're description would be past tense.
