How to put my Summer internship on my resume??

Hi,

I am an incoming Sophomore at a semi target (good state school) who interned at a small boutique near my home.

The internship was supposed to be in banking, but due to Covid, deal flow was non existent. Because of this, I have been organizing their proprietary database, making sure all contact information was there. (For example, if we had an email of an institutional client, I would add the address, name, phone number, current employment, etc.)

I do this each day, and go home. I have asked about banking, but they keep saying nothing is happening, and I believe them, since 2 people were laid off.

How can I phrase this on my resume? I have it as Summer Analyst, but not sure what to put as far as information. Any help would be appreciated.

Did they let you look at any CIMs or any past work? You could say you did due diligence on xyz company and that would be more legit. Try asking them for any past materials and if any of the senior firm members are free, ask them to walk you through building a model. Do that by yourself and then you can talk about valuation as well. The thing is that you can BS and embellish, but there has to be a grain of truth behind each bullet point or you're cut.
