I dont need luck I need magic

Hello Everrrrbodyy

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE jelp me

I need some advice on my resume,

Under my experience, should I keep my student assistant employments that has nothing to do with the finance job?

(I am applying for Finance positions)

Look at your dates, specifically the way they are formatted. You want:

Month 2012 - Month 2013

I see in at least one spot you have:

Month 2012- Month 2013

See the difference? Make sure the hyphens and spaces are all consistent.

Also, I'm assuming you've got two positions listed there in the same section? Only the top title is in italics when they both should be. Someone else may want to chime in on whether or not you should combine those two positions. I don't see a problem with it as the roles were likely identical if not very similar, but it might be a faux pas. Not sure.

As for the student assistant positions, two identical concurrent positions? Keep them for now I guess, but as soon as you need space, eliminate the less impressive experience.

You sure monitor the number of students a lot.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

I'm not sure if finance should be bold here, I wouldn't do it. Maybe someone else will chime in on whether or not this is an issue.

Also, remove the periods from the ends of your bullet points...

Haha, made you look.

man if u guys could take a look at my cover letter.. one time put I will be calling you 7 times on monday. lol

Can you make your bullet points sound...not so shitty? Most of them are just listing daily tasks. Do you have any achievements or results? Can you demonstrate in the experience section that what you did resulted in something valuable?

The fact that you have "monitored the number of students" taking up not one, but two bullet points on your resume is just...wow. Do you think your potential employer will be like: "Oh shit, this kid can really count the number of people in a room. We need some of that around here, he is fucking in"?

Set aside more time to think about the real highlights of your work experience.

What have you been doing with your life? Bad GPA, bad school, no solid work experience, no decent extracurricular activities...do you have 8 kids and sick parents that you had to take care of?

Lastly, what do you mean by you are applying to "finance" jobs? What do you want to do? Try to manage your expectations in the short-term until you get some valuable experience.

You speak hokkien? Are you from Singapore?

Also, if your gonna block out where you go to school at the top of your resume, you might wanna do it at the bottom too when you list your activities and such. Not that showing where you went to school really matters on this website.

"Yes. Money has been a little bit tight lately, but at the end of my life, when I'm sitting on my yacht, am I gonna be thinking about how much money I have? No. I'm gonna be thinking about how many friends I have and my children and my comedy albums."

You still need to fix the dates. They're consistent, but not ideal.

You want:

May(space)2011(space)-(space)June(space)2011

Right now you are missing the space between the first date and the hyphen. You can have the best bullet points in the world, but if your formatting on something as important as your resume reveals an inattention to detail you become easy to ding.

There has to be some type of restriction to posting new topics, especially in this sub-forum.

Each new user can immediately post a topic, attached with a crappy resume? Where's the effort in trying to make a decent resume besides "monitoring" people? What does that even mean?

Bitch, you and flake need to go to a room and fuck each other off. Constructive criticism please.

A donkey like you shouldnt even be allow in this forum. Why would you even say something that has already been said? Dumb bitch

Flake actually gave you great, if a bit harsh, advice.

I love your reaction, though. Keep it up.

I know this has been said many times but when you get the M&I template for your cv there is a lot of wording already given for each of the sub bullets. take that, play around with it and try to make the bullets you have now more extensive, more applicable and just punchier in terms of what message they deliver, right now everything is very vague, short at not to the point at all.

is there any finance related club at uni you can join, anything finance related in the jobs aside counting the money you made during a day (accounting may do it as well)

Flake's comment is pretty much to the point. put some more effort into this and then show us again. A good CV is not written in 10 minutes it takes time to draft and craft.

Yeahh I know flake gave me alot hence I didnt complain until coochie came along., I been working since middle school and continued to work every year while I was in college. So I didnt appreciate the "what have you been doing with your life comment" but i agree I could have done alot more.

You know theres levels to this shit, 10 minutes for you are like days to me..

Thank you all again for the comment I really do appreciate each and every one.
