I got laid off, should I include end date on resume?
I recently got laid off from my company and I am applying for different jobs. Should I mark that I am still employed there (using ‘Present’ as the end date), or should I add the actual end date even though I feel it might lower my chances?
Include your actual end date and just be honest with HR/hiring manager. They’ll get it. This is the easiest job cycle to explain being laid off. It happens.
Lying about still working there is not good. Plus if you do include the end date it’s easier to get a reference from past employer
