Interests Line of Resume

Hey guys,

Kind of curious to hear your thoughts on my current interests line on my resume. Y’all obviously don’t know anything about me (other than my username) so from an unbiased perspective what sort of vibes do my interests give off? What sort of guy do you think I am? What’s the most striking? Feel free to roast me/my interests if you want. Rising junior at semi target (think UVA, umich, ND) still recruiting for IB / PE. Thanks!

Interests: New York Time Crosswords, Star Wars, Bodysurfing, Card Counting, Tennis, Glacier National Park, Euchre, GiveWell

It's unique that's for sure. I don't have a single thing in common with you. Or i'm simply a more boring person than you.

Probably best to say Blackjack or nothing at all. There's no card counting in poker and Blackjack is not even near to the same scale as poker in terms of game theory

I would actually put college football on the list. Personally, after reading NYT crosswords and Star Wars, I'd be shaking my head and muttering "Good Christ." Wish that I could actually count cards, though. I played a lot of poker in my early 20s - the last time I played blackjack, I was 22, had wandered over from the poker table on tilt after getting repeatedly bad-beated, and proceeded to dump ~$10k in about 30 minutes. Went back to my room, grabbed the rest of my roll w/ the intent of going back to the table, stopped at the door and decided it was best that I never play again.

Can respect NYT Crossword... played it myself... better have the vocabulary to back it back though

Yo there's no fucking card counting in poker - are you guys ok? The deck is shuffled every hand you donks.

Elaborate or say it to my face

You must be real fun at dinner parties. Paper plates and plastic spoons for this hardo.

Your username is clout chasing. If your top line on your resume is strong enough, they don't even look at the bottom line. - I literally look at a resume for no more than 10 seconds and just let them tell me whats important on it. You think your interests matter. - Can you do the job? Great. You didn't include your actual interests as they are too mainstream - you like what you like, who cares if literally everyone else likes them, it means you're not weird.

Try Less.
