Name on resume and applications

Hi, I had a question about the name that I should use on my resume and applications. My first name is a European name which seems to be harder to pronounce for those that are not familiar with it, which is most people. I have been in many interviews while looking for an internship where the interviewer has struggled to pronounce my name. I am not sure if this is right, but I have heard some people say that some employers might not bother with someone with a foreign name, for whatever reason.

My name does have have a common version in english, that can also be shortened, and that is what most people call me. Does anyone have any suggestions on which name I should put on my resume and applications. The reason I ask is because my original name is the name that is on all my records and documents and I was wondering if that matters. I know this isn't that important, I just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas about this. Thanks.

usually, on the application forms there is a place to put your name as well as a place to state the name that you want to be called/nickname. just use that and they will use the easier version

i would be interested in your name though since i cant imagine your name to be unpronouncable. its not like you're from africa and your name is in some click-language like xhosa.
