Please tell me for real. 3rd year undergrad; PE, Finance or Consulting w/ Agri-Food or CPG focus is ideal. (Toronto based)

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping to take a look. Don't hold back on the resume - any and all advice is appreciated. I'm not sensitive.

I am looking for a legit internship this Summer in Toronto. I had one in Europe last year; it was related to finance (for a specialty coffee roaster). I had a great experience, though am concerned institutions will not recognize it seriously. I'm told 3rd year Summer is the time to find that perfect internship. I'm starting this December and will try to contact 5 companies per week until I find something decent. Doesn't even have to be paid, I just want something legit.

My studies specifically pertain to the Agriculture and Food/Bev industry. If I can find something which intersects (even slightly) with this, I will be a happy kid. Please let me know if you think of any firms which might deal in this area.

I'm not too sure what actual finance roles you are looking for...something like a financial analyst role at an Agriculture or CPG company, like Pepsico? I don't have much experience with these firms.

However, if you're interested in IB or PE internships, I know Toronto BBs are finished, and the early round has already finished for the rest of the Big 5. There are a few spots still left for the SA regular round at the Big 5 but those are usually taken up by (and not to be harsh by saying this) better target schools, such as Ivey.

As well, to be completely honest your resume seems to be lacking a bit in the financial experience department.

My suggestion is to start looking and applying now, and networking hard now. Reach out to alumni from your university.
