resume check for consulting (MBB+others)

Hey Monkeys,

I'm preparing for next fall recruiting and my goal is to interview with MBB + other top consulting firms, ultimately getting at least an offer.

I would be really grateful if you could give me some feedback (please, be harsh if needed) on my resume.

You waste a lot of space. White space is very nice to see on a resume, but you're cutting yourself short here. Your languages and hobbies take up 1/3 of the page in and of themselves since you list each and every one on their own line. You could expand a lot on your work experience and extracurriculars.

I don't know much about European recruiting.

Changing to either the template or creating your own from scratch that resembles it more or less (as I did, with a few liberties) will guarantee that you save space, use everything as efficiently as possible, and nail the language you need to sell your experience and candidacy the best way possible.

People do recommend that you keep extracurriculars short, because many people will treat them just like work experience and put multiple bullets on each one summarizing their involvement. I never did that, I kept each EC entry to one line. You minimized even further, listing less than 10 words for each one. Basically, if you ever start a line, you want to use as much of that line as possible without spilling over to another new one. Space is valuable.

Hope this helps.
