Resume for young Real Estate Agent trying to break into Financial World

Also if anyone could lead me in the right path of finding a job as a financial advisor. I am only getting interviews for chop shops off career builder. I am really interested in working with commodities such as gold and silver, what is my best bet for something relating to those fields? Any advice you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I am just getting started and need guidance. Thanks again.
Should I write up a CV? Do they prefer resume or CV? Should I be sending in cover letters as well? How do I get an interview at a top tier company? I don't want to work at a chop shop, I want get training at a good firm and work my ass off to become successful.
