Resume Skills Section - VP
At the VP level looking to lateral within private equity, how do you approach the “Skills” section of your resume? Do you focus solely on technical abilities like financial modeling and transaction structuring, or do you include leadership, cross-border deal expertise, and relationship management? We’d love to hear what you’ve found effective in highlighting the skills that set you apart. Thanks all.
Hot take, I'd save the real estate on the page and not even incorporate a skills section. I think of that more for undergrad resumes and/or software engineers (listing coding languages, etc.). You're better off using more space to blow-out your deal experience in the work experience section in my view. Any skills will be commoditized.
