Resume Template Copy
Hey guys,
I just had a question after going a couple university club meetings on banking and finance. Some of the older students said to just copy and paste the resume and template and input my own information. It seems a bit generic to me but at the same time, they are the pros. Does anybody else have any input??

That's exactly what the business school at my university has us do, so I'd assume it works considering they're still doing it. But take what I say for what it's worth, nothing.

Hahah I can confirm Oxbridge also does the same.
Use the template. Generic is good, generic means the viewer can quickly read through your CV.

Hey monkeys,
This might sound somewhat stupid, but I was wondering... We're all familiar with the usual IB Resume template, be it either from here or M&I, and it got me thinking on how that model is perceived outside of IB. Are, for example, corporate recruiters more familiar with other, perhaps more "traditional" resume templates, or is the IB one basically a panacea? Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this.

I lol'd at including the LinkedIn link. Does anyone actually do this?
The link doesn't seem to work, but I did a search for the article online, and while I think the template is good (better than the usual resume templates you can find), I think the M&I and WSO templates are probably better, at least for finance jobs. They just look more structured to me, and the idea of including a URL to your linkedin doesn't appeal to me at all.
what if say, you have a boatload of endorsements and/or recommendations in the specific skills they're looking for, does this carry any value? i would have to think it would help a little?
I didn't like the LinkedIn url either. I really like the "executive summary" though, which is something WSO temp lacks. Thoughts?
