Thoughts on including company description in resume?
Recently came across a resume that included a quick description of the company. Never seen this before. Not sure if I like it or not. Thoughts on this? Auto-ding?

Dunno for how long you've been reading resumes Mr. VP but that's super common. Good way to know what the firm does without having to google the name.
Nah this is legit the first time I've seen this type of thing. Thought it was always frowned upon.
Yes of course, auto-ding someone for including something that you're not sure that you like, and that you have a feeling might be frowned upon by others

Work a day in the industry and you'll realize that dings happen when you don't follow standard resume practices (hanging bullet points, inconsistent white space, etc). Just trying to help a kid out who is trying to network with me and wanted to hear the Analysts' thoughts on this since they'll actually be the ones who review the resume.

If resume reviewer wants to know more about the company, he can google himself. But he wouldn’t get the opportunity to learn more about you. So utilize the space to talk about you.
Agree w u it's def uncommon and I don't do it personally. Position and bullet points will give more insight anyways
