Title: Transfer Student Resume GPA

Hi everyone — I’d really appreciate some advice on how to present schools and GPAs as a transfer student.

Background:

  • Class of 2027, rising junior, transferred due to some personal circumstances.

  • Freshman–Sophomore Fall (3 semesters) at Target School A – GPA 3.8

  • Sophomore Spring (1 semester) transferred at Lower Semi-Target School B – GPA 4.0,

  • Starting Fall 2025 through graduation at Target School C – no GPA yet

Question:
Since I don’t have a GPA at School C yet, I’ll need to show a previous GPA when applying for 2026 IB internships (MM / smaller firms). I’m debating two options:

  • Option 1: List both School A (3.8) and School B (4.0).
    • Concern: will three schools look unfavorable?

  • Option 2: List only School A (3.8, stronger brand).
    • Will firms ask for official transcripts when extending an offer? If so,
      • Will they ask for School A’s official transcript since it is the only one listed on my resume?
      • If they ask for School A’s official transcript, can I still submit school B ‘s official transcript (which shows transferred courses from A) even if B isn’t listed on my resume?
  • Which option is recommended?

Which approach would you recommend for recruiting?

Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated — thank you!

I honestly would just put 3.8 and be done with it, it’s such a gray area and it’s not like you’re ticking your GPA up, you’re clearly stating what your “cumulative GPA” is. If someone asks, I don’t see an expectation on why you would mention anything else and submit all your transcripts. A good GPA is a good GPA.
