Two <1 Year Jobs On Resume?
Lateral'd to investment banking after about 7 months at my first job (FO but not IB) and have an offer to join GS/MS. They are looking for immediate starts only and will buy out my bonus. I've been at my current firm (strong MM) for 7 months now.
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
You have the offer in hand. Stay at GS for a few years and nobody will question your switches. They were a means to your goal
I don't know why so many people overthink this. If you have an offer in hand for a move that is easily explainable why would anyone think this is a bad idea?
This is totally fine, your moves are explainable and clearly upwards. It can take some jumps to get into IB if you don't start there. Just be conscious of where you go next - i.e. don't leave GS to somewhere you only stay for 1 year as well.
