URGENT: PLEASE READ ME!!!!

Hi all,

I am about to start emailing my resumes to the relationships (I hope) I have made during my networking efforts.

Its for IBD FT, and my focus is mainly boutiques and MM shops. I have made some changes to my resume so it'll be great if you guys can take a quick look and point out something that doesn't make sense/language is confusing etc etc.

Also, the resume on Razume shows up on two pages for some reason.

http://www.razume.com/documents/11585

Thanks!

If razume displays your resume on 2 pages, then your formatting is screwed up. I'd strongly suggest you to fix it, otherwise your recipients might end up getting a 2-page resume and deleting it w/o even taking a look.

Also, for future reference, don't be a dick and don't use caps nor word urgent in your thread unless it's very serious.

If you upload a .doc it splits it into two, it does it to me as well but if you upload in PDF it's fine.

My apologies for the dramatic subject line, did not get much of a response last time so wanted to try something else.

Yacht_man, thanks for the pointers, will make the changes

Banker88, man I have been going back and forth with having leadership & experience in one section, and then splitting it again...I guess having them under separate sections is a little clearer after all

put in a pdf, .doc is not a good format to use and there's no excuses for formatting errors when they can be avoided

in that vein, the following formatting choices jump out at me:

The indentation of double major seems pointless.

the double indentation of gpa seems more pointless

I would never have multiple sentences in a bullet. It forces you to use a period for the first and none for the second, which is just awkward

"engaging in direct discussions" - so what? lose it

EV/Megawatts should have spaces between words, equityvalue is not a word

change investment banking analyst intern to investment banking summer analyst

split up work and activities, as said above

you use 05 etc format for some months but 4 for others (ie, with/without zero) - be consistent

agree that you should never use contractions in formal writing

"the regional I-banks" - don't use I-banks in a resume, don't describe them like that, and it is too similar to the bullet below

lot of work to do here, especially on the bullets. try harder

wow thanks drexelalum, I will make those changes. For changing the title to investment banking summer analyst, I started off as a summer analyst after my sophomore year, and then stayed there for a year until June of this year, so i can't really put 'summer analyst'?

and just to be sure, I should always send my resume in a pdf format?
