What counts for total deal value closed on a resume?
Let's say you sold a 30% stake in a 10bn business. Would you count it as $3bn in total deal value closed or $10bn (enterprise value closed)? Is there a way to word it so you can use the $10bn without misconstruing it
The lower you are on the totem pole, the more you lie. The higher you are, the more they will check. You would say "closed a 3B stake at a 10B valuation." If they were raising capital you could omit how much you raised and just say, "raised capital for a 10B company." Problem with that is everyone will just ask you how much you raised.
