Why the market so tough now. Is networking the only option to get interviews.

I think my two masters is making me overqualified for entry level jobs.I did 100s of applications, not networking. I am from non target, international student on OPT. Whats the best advice to network and the any best job search strategy advice. I am pivoting my career in finance and I am open for financial analyst, credit analyst, FP&A, equity research,, investment analyst and even business analyst roles

1) It is hard to find any job if you need sponsorship down the line. Keep trying, especially with firms known to sponsor. (threads on WSO)
2) Please keep an eye on the amount of unemployment during OPT, I believe there is a maximum. Take any job if required to remain in legal status.
3) There are jobs which are cap-exempt H1b, research/college/non-profit, ... - look at them if nobody wants to sponsor.
4) Look at another degree, if you can afford the tuition and time.

This isn't impossible, I have spoken to many WSO users who eventually found a job on OPT.

Best of luck.

Thank you for your response. It is very helpful. Point 3 is something that I did not knew. Thanks for sharing this information. I am trying my best to find jobs. I also reached out to third party recruiting and staffing agencies who can provide W2 contract jobs and also help in H1b filing. But I am not sure how legitimate that is and if I should take such risk. Thanks for your response
