A career in finance after a graduate degree in Business Analytics/Data Science?
Hi! I have just been accepted for a MSc in Data Science and Business Analysis at Bocconi University. I have however not quite decided what I want to work with in the future (I'm drawn to both management consulting and finance). I was therefore wondering whether a graduate degree in business analytics/data science would allow me to pursue a career in finance (IB, ER, asset management etc.), or if such a degree would be considered "irrelevant" for such positions? And if I was to start out in management consulting, and then proceed to do an MBA, would I then be eligible for a career in finance? Or is it hard to "break into" finance after doing a few years in management consulting? Lastly, will the "Bocconi brand" help me in getting interviews with the likes of McK, BCG, GS, MS etc.? (P. S. I hope to work in either Scandinavia or London)
I'm sorry for asking so many questions in just one post. I am very grateful for your replies!
Cheers.
