Any reason not to pass fail an unimportant class?
Doing an off cycle internship this spring, and was thinking about pass failing one of my classes to lighten up the workload a little. I go to a liberal arts college, and the class is an intro outside my major and irrelevant to finance -- think intro psych, sociology, art, etc. Is there any downside to this? Thus far in recruiting, few people have actually looked at my transcript. Will anyone care if they see this? PE? Business school? My gpa is high (3.9ish)
It will not impact your bank prospects by any means, if that's what you're asking. Adcoms for bschool might look down on this, but 1 P isn't something they'd likely even think about. It comes down to whether you really think this will help you or not. Would your GPA go down to a 3.8 if you don't P/F? Might be worth it. Would there be no material change if you don't? Probably best to keep it.
