Did he actually go there or is he a want to be who was rejected and puts it on a pedestal? I mean I've visited HBS and its a cool place but not like Heaven or anything like that. Hell, the kids spend most of the time cramming their cases because they are scared of the cold call.

I laughed pretty hard when I read your last sentence. Almost no one at HBS takes the case study classes seriously (at least not after the first few weeks). Yes, it's a lot of cases to read (average of 13-15/week), but most students just browse the cases and get the important main points during their daily morning study groups. The chances of getting cold-called on any given class is less than 1 out of 90. And if you're reasonably smart, you can make a decent point in class even for cases you haven't read thoroughly.

It's not just the case study classes. When I was at HBS, it was obvious that classes in general were for immigrants. I didn't need some nosy academics teaching me about fin-ance when I practically invented the subject.
