At what point does your university no longer matter?

I am wondering how much people care about the strength or weakness of your university. I have come to US to study and find I am at a school less than what I could attend compared to if I study in my home country because English has become my second language. How do people perceive this and will they always doubt my intelligence? I am currently at a 50-70 ranked university.
