Besides getting your first job, how does the brand name of your alma mater help?
I think it is clear that going to a target school can help land your first job out of college.
However, people always mention that the brand/network of a school can help throughout the rest of your life. How is this the case? I had this thought as I was reading this thread where someone was advised to take out 200k loans to go to HYPS over a full ride to UF (and people were saying that even if he was still able to get the same IB job out of UF, the "HYPS network and brand" would pay for itself. Anyone have examples of how this works?
