Best schools for Texas IB/PE

Hi I am a Senior in High School interested in high Finance. I would love to break into IB/PE/consulting in Texas after college. I will start applying to colleges this fall and wanted to know which unis are considered targets for Texas IB/PE/consulting. I'll be applying as an international and am aiming to get a major in Maths/Applied Maths/Statistics (and if possible, a double major in Finance/Economics). Any universities that u guys know about will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for the advice! Stay safe! (ps. I hv a 1580 on the SAT and a ~3.8 gpa)

A&M has made leaps and bounds the past few years in placements, the finance department has poured a substantial amount of time/money in expanding their footprint in banking. The Aggies on Wall Street Program has been transformed the last couple years and has near 100% placement rate, led by an HBS and ex-DLJ banker who is incredibly well connected in finance (in past years students have gotten a personal 3 hour round table discussion with John Gray and Tony James). In addition, the Horizons Program (student/alumni banking prep club) has led to a significant increase in banks coming to campus, (all Houston offices) something they never really did before and banks are guaranteeing interview slots to A&M now which a couple years ago was not the case. On top of all that there is much less competition for banking compared to UT, UT obviously places significantly more and is a true semi target and Houston target, but the pool of A&M people who go for banking/consulting is much much less as corporate finance/big 4 accounting are the main paths desired. So if you want banking/consulting and will put in the time you will not just be fine, but likely will land multiple superdays.

I’m not sure if this is the one you’re familiar with, but A&M has some program or class on finance or PE with the former head of Texas Teachers (I believe he used to be with Bridgewater) who now runs the school’s endowment. As one of the largest LPs in most of the largest funds, he’s extremely well connected and I’ve seen students from that class get fantastic placements through his reference (placements that would otherwise only be available to HYP type students). Anyways, in general UT and Rice are the best for Texas banking placement but A&M through this program really punches above its weight.
