Best US Master's program for IB NYC? (MIT MFin vs Vanderbilt MSF)
Hi all,
I'm looking to apply to a master's program in the US with the aim to get a job in coverage or M&A in NYC. I'd be interested to know what you guys think is the best program for it.
From my research it seems the best options would either be MIT MFin or Vandy MSF. MIT has the perks of being 18-months, allowing for SA recruitment, and an ivy-level reputation. The only downside I see is it is much more quant focused which makes me think it might not be as well suited for non-quant roles. Would appreciate any insights.
My background: I will soon graduate with a business degree from a good university in Western Europe with Cum Laude. I've had a couple internships at small LMM/MM M&A boutiques and I have done an exchange semester at a semi-target in the US and got a GPA of 3.97. Also, I have US citizenship so visa related matters aren't an issue.
PS. some other schools I've looked at are Villanova, UChicago, Columbia, Emory, Georgetown, and Duke.
Thanks!
