To put things in perspective, 8 places do not count as many.

For MBA programs, eight is a lot. Most people apply to anywhere between 4-6. I applied to 5 in round 1 and it was soul crushing (but has been rewarding). Most people I know personally looking at top MBAs applied to only 2-4 programs. If you really do your due diligence before hand you should be able to cut the list down very easily. Even at 5 apps for me I knew there was one of those that didn't really "fit" me. I'm interviewing at that place still but without scholarship it feels a bit like I wasted the app fee.

Not sure if all the MBAs have established OCI. I've seen a lot of ppl struggle to land internships from top MBAs

dude, this is not even funny. The top MBAs all want the "top brand" internships, and that's the "struggle". would you take a no-name internship if you're in top MBA? in contrast, you probably can't even get a no-name one if your school isn't help you out.
