Business School or recruit for PE What are my realistic options

Did 2 years of banking in FIG and did not have a great experience worked at RBC, WF, lower tier shop and got very few deal reps in took some time off and now work as an M&A Assoicate at a large privately held company focusing on buyside deals.

The gig is great and I am learning a lot it the company is backed by PE too I want to get to a higher paying seat but I want to see if I should go get an MBA and recruit after doing some time here or just try to go straight to PE if that is even an option
