Careers to set you up well for an MBA?
Currently a junior who just recently found an interest in consulting, but I've come to realize how far behind I am from my peers with regard to the process of internships/FT prospects, and have conceded it is extremely unlikely I break into consulting post-graduation given how competitive the landscape is and how uncredentialed I am at the moment (have applied to nearly 100 internships for a total of zero interviews). I understand it might become a possibility after an MBA, which of course is a bit down the line, but what might be some initial career paths I might want to consider that might best set me up for entry into those programs? I'm generally leaning towards something in accounting/tax, but how many people going to decent business schools are coming from that field? I was originally quite invested in pursuing a career in academia, but that track is long gone.
