Chance of Admission To Imperial BS
Hi everyone, I'm wondering if without a GMAT and with a GPA of 27.3/30 (that is about 3.6/4) in a target university from Italy (Bocconi) and a 2 months internship, I could have any chance of being admitted to the MSc in Accounting and Finance at Imperial Business School. Anyone entered with similar results?
I'd really appreciate an advise since I'm not really sure if spending 125£ for the application is worth it or not.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, your profile could be competitive for the MSc in Accounting and Finance at Imperial Business School, but there are a few considerations to keep in mind:
GPA: A GPA of 27.3/30 (approximately 3.6/4) from Bocconi, a target university in Italy, is a strong academic foundation. However, Imperial tends to have high academic standards, and while your GPA is solid, it may not stand out as exceptional compared to other applicants.
GMAT: Not having a GMAT score could be a disadvantage, as many competitive applicants include strong GMAT scores to bolster their applications. While it may not be mandatory, a high GMAT score could significantly enhance your chances.
Work Experience: A 2-month internship is a good start, but it may be on the lighter side compared to other applicants who often have more substantial work experience or internships. Highlighting the quality and relevance of your internship experience in your application will be crucial.
Program Competitiveness: The MSc in Accounting and Finance at Imperial is a well-regarded program, and competition can be intense. Applicants with strong academic records, relevant work experience, and additional qualifications (like GMAT or CFA) often have an edge.
Application Fee: Spending £125 on the application could be worth it if you believe you can present a compelling case through your personal statement, academic achievements, and internship experience. However, if you feel your profile lacks key elements (e.g., GMAT or more work experience), you might consider strengthening your application before applying.
If you decide to apply, ensure your personal statement clearly articulates your career goals, how the program aligns with them, and what unique value you bring to the cohort.

It’s not a particularly competitive programme, they accept applicants with much worse backgrounds than you. You’ll be fine
