I disagree with Smitty even if you weren't an URM I still think you would still be competitive. A lot will come down to your essays and how you interview. Almost every program will ask in some way for your short term and long term goals and basically why MBA, why X school, and why now

shorttheworldand whats your GMAT split on the 700 between v and q?

Q 86 % / V 83%

thinking of retaking though since it was my first time

You give me a gift? *BAM* Thank you note! You invite me somewhere? *POW* RSVP! You do me a favor? *WHAM* Favor returned! Do not test my politeness.

hey guys thanks for the great input!... here's my resume perhaps itll better describe my creds....

also i can probably get a better recommendation from my current supervisor (she fought to keep me from leaving to another team), just thought that it would look good from a CBS teacher and my old boss from wharton... but i can do all the above and even the ex-dean from my business school (current professor).

Since im thinking of applying 1-2 years out... would other things (i.e. cfa, pmp, etc) give me another bump?

For the sake of discussion, since no one has mentioned it yet - is University of Delaware too much of a random/non-target school to be competitive without top scores or a unique work background? I always thought the people who got into top schools like CBS would come from top undergrad with brand name FO work experience, whether in finance or not.

Hi, Eric Stratton, rush chairman, damn glad to meet you.

Jose.ReyThe only blue hen getting into CBS is Joe Flacco.

its not like the vice president of the united states is from udel or anything.

Apply ED and I think you have a great shot. If you decide to apply regular decision, make sure you submit your app before December. Things get MUCH MUCH harder after December for CBS.

thanks, yea i will make sure to apply ED since its my top choice... i also have this semester left to bump up my gpa a little and hopefully bump up gmat scores.

Eh, from what I've seen of his, I'm not too surprised that Smitty posted that. For future reference, while you may find prejudiced comments on this board, that's definitely going a bit far.
