I think if you're sticking to econ, Michigan by far. However, wait for experienced monkeys to comment on the situation if you can get into McIntire, as I'm not familiar with that school.

Whats your goal ?? IBD or MBB. If MBB I would recommend UVA but I am not aware of how solid recruitment is at A & S.

Just a note on this comment. I don't really think this is going to be a problem. If you're going to go to UVA, reach out to UVA alums so they can vouch for you so you can get interviews. Being in A&S shouldn't limit you vs being in commerce if your gpa is high/there is no question about your intelligence

Not sure if I agree with this. UVA and UMich both place well at MBB. UMich (both Ross & LSA students) send a good number of kids to MBB in the midwest. I'm assuming UVA students mostly end up in the southern offices. At best, I'd call it a toss-up for MBB.

I feel like the consensus is Virginia? Surprising because I thought Michigan was very highly regarded on this forum

If you ask people from the east coast to give a list a "Public Ivies," most of their lists will contain only two schools: Berkeley and UVA.
