College Finances

So I will be starting college in the fall (Undergrad) and was wondering what you guys did with your money during college?? I will be taking out loans but also plan to work as much as i can to help pay the loans back (unsure if you request a new loan every year or how that works) and am planning on probably just sticking all my money in savings/ money market / CDs, as all of money will be going towards school/ living expenses.

If the loans are taken over a 4 year period, can i make a lump sum when graduate, or (if loans are taken out yearly) just save and try to pay for last 2 years without loans.

Also, would just having any job during school and maintaining good grades show hard work ethic and drive, or would a corporate job look a lot better on a resume?

Thirdly, anyone do Federal work study/ how did you like/dislike it?

Thanks!
