College IB Orgs Interviews
I know this is the wrong forum but I couldn't find anything applicable, this seemed the closest?
I'm an incoming freshman at a semi-target to target (I'm not too sure) school (undergrad). There are a few major freshman investment orgs here that are just IB orgs, they spend a huge amount of time prepping kids for IB interviewing/recruitment, as well as for placement into the major sophomore orgs (I'm guessing it works similarly at other semi-targets), so they only take like 3-4 people each semester out of a huge applicant pool.
Apparently the interviews are super difficult and I have no idea how to prepare--I know they will ask me a couple things about stocks and to pitch a stock, as well as grill me on anything that I put in my resume/application that is finance specific, so I'm not going to say I know any super crazy stuff to be asked about. But I was wondering what I can familiarize myself with in the next week or so to write about as an interest that I can use to talk about in the interviews, because if I don't come up with something to set myself apart I'm screwed, and whatever I mention, I'll have to hold up while being grilled by all the officers. Everyone talks about ETFs and stocks, I was wondering if there is something more interesting I should talk about.
For current events, I'm planning on just doing a free trial of the WSJ and cramming everything as much as I can, I feel like I should be able to talk about some interesting stuff I read.
What did you guys talk about when recruiting for student organizations and clubs in interviews?
