College question…

Ok, so I can ED either to Duke or to BC. Obviously Duke will get me a much better chance of getting into high business (end goal is not necessarily IB, I would be happy in Consulting or PM as well). However, Duke is a major gamble. There’s like an 85% chance I’m just wasting my time. Yes, I have good extracurriculars, yes I have a good SAT score, yada yada yada. But “good” isn’t enough for Duke. Duke seems fun and all but EDing would pretty much be only for the boost in hiring (and that I kinda prefer Durham). BC is a really nice school, slightly cheaper, and far more realistic for me to get into. Thoughts?

Duke. It's only ED. It's not like you won't have a chance to take a shot at other top schools during RD.

If you apply to BC early, and get locked in, that would be a nightmare to be forced to go.

I wouldn’t mind being locked in, plus BC heavily takes from their ED pool. Very few if any are taken from RD.
