Columbia University MA in Statistics?

Hello,
What's their rep in the finance field? Anyone here graduate from the program? What's their post-graduation job placement like?

I doubt the "finance" field you refer to lines up with the opportunities the graduates of the MA statistics program land.

I know a few of them. Some of them do actuarial work. Risk management role at a bank is very common, given the regulatory landscape. Some others go into big data analytics at a technology firm. A few exceptional graduates with savy networking and technical skills landed offer at a quant hedge fund doing research.

The fact that Columbia is in the city of New York helps in terms of landing something at a big bank here, but I am not sure if this program helps you get into front office roles that easily, if that's what you are looking for.
