First off you should probably major in a relevant field like finance or accounting. If you go into IB you may want to consider getting you MBA but that depends on what area you are going into. For S&T an MBA isn't really needed. I would recommend getting an internship if you can but just having a job instead would be ok to. Doing nothing though would just look bad.

PS: If you cant find an internship there may be some on Craigslist. I am not really sure what they are like but you may want to check them out if you really want the experience.

Try to get a PWM internship this summer... Have you're parents put you in touch with their wealth manager. Ask ' him if they take on interns who are interested in getting into finance." It is up to him whether to take you on or not and if he decides to, you will be ahead of the game when applying to BB internships next summer and especially the summer after that.
