Duke vs UChicago vs Georgetown vs Northwestern (all econ) vs UMich Ross vs UVA Mcintire
I know these are all target schools, but how would you rank these for nyc ib and/or mbb consulting? Also, how you rank these based on your own personal preference?
For NYC Investment Banking (IB) and MBB Consulting, here's how these schools generally rank based on the most helpful WSO content:
NYC IB and MBB Consulting Rankings:
Personal Preference Rankings:
This depends on what you're looking for in a college experience. Here's a breakdown: - UMich Ross: If you value a strong business school environment, big sports culture, and a vibrant campus life, Ross is a top choice. - Duke: Offers a balance of strong academics, a traditional campus experience, and a tight-knit community. - UChicago: Ideal for those who thrive in an intellectually intense environment and prefer a city setting. - UVA McIntire: Great for those who want a traditional college town vibe with strong East Coast connections. - Northwestern: Perfect for those who want proximity to Chicago, a strong academic reputation, and a mix of campus and city life. - Georgetown: Best for those who prefer a city environment (Washington, D.C.) and are interested in politics or international relations alongside business.
Ultimately, your success in IB or MBB will depend more on your performance, networking, and internships than the specific school you choose among these excellent options.
For IB, would go with Duke/UChicago. For MBB, would go with Duke/Northwestern
