EDHEC Msc in Finance

Hello everyone, Has anyone completed this programme and has made it to London IBD (M&A) positions? I have received an offer with a scholarship from EDHEC, but I have to decide before I get other results from HEC, LSE, or Bocconi.

My profile: 1. EU passport holder, but Eastern European descent 2. 1/99 GPA for my Bachelors Degree which is only known in Baltic States (studied for free based on grant) - english programme 3. Extra-curricular activities related to Investment Society. Also, obtained several merit-based scholarships during my bachelor degree period. 3. One internship in a German equity investment fund (Summer after graduation) and One internship, currently, in M&A boutique in Budapest (6mo internship). 4. GMAT 670 82% percentile, Q49 V33

I am not sure if I have a decent shot at HEC and LSE since these are my top priorities. I don't know if I should take the risk and lose the scholarship at EDHEC and wait for other results.

My goals: IBD M&A in London

Any suggestions are helpful

In the end, I was accepted also to LSE and HEC, but because of my financial possibilities I accepted the EDHEC offer. Now, turned out EDHEC climbed some positions in FT rankings, which is not bad.

HEC is very well ranked and highly regarded by recruiters. It has that blue blood "elite" image which EDHEC simply does not have. Course content is undeniably stronger than what they teach at LSE, and HEC grads are miles ahead in terms of technical know-how and flair (this is based off first hand experience).

Drawback is the price tag (and the remote campus), but any bank worth its salt in Jouy-en-Josas will finance you at a reasonable interest rate and with flexible payment plans.

the part about the banks willing to finance you is not true at all if you are international student. they dont give u more than 3000 euros and makes you repay 1000 within 1 year so it makes almost 0 sense to take the loan. speaking from my own experience asking in all the banks in Jouy

Wasn't aware of that. Too bad.

Know some international students at french business and engineering schools, way less prestigeous than HEC, enrolled in various pre-experience M.Sc. Programs, and they still managed to get loans.

Maybe retail banks make a distinction between non-eu and EU international when regulating loans.

Anyway, extremely sorry to hear that you couldn't work it out, despite attending such a good school.
