Wharton has a ton of former professional athletes. This year alone there are 2 ex-MLB, 2 ex-NFL, and a few ex-Olympians. The class before also had 5 or so professional athletes. There's absolutely a pipeline for it.
Just make sure your story makes sense and test scores are in-line. All of these folks are going into primarily MBB and banking roles. You'll have no trouble.
We've worked with professional athletes who have successfully applied to top MBA programs and then moved into investment banking.
Top schools will definitely consider you. Your career has been your business, and you've run it -- even if you had an agent. It also shows enormous discipline and teamwork. Your grades and internships are also going to be valued.
Get a good test score and your chances are good.
